   I experienced a similar glitch. In the folder before the one containing your save files, is there a second folder? In my case, the game randomly switches between looking for save files in two different folders, which is annoying but can be fixed easily.

   I was gonna back it up but... my save file in the Valkyria Chronicles folder hasn't updated since getting back to where I was. When I open the game however, it loads just fine.
